The beginning of Deep Purple 1968:
The band began in earnest (for writing, rehearse and playing live) in March 1968 at Deeves Hall, a country house in South Mimmis, Hertfordshire, Great Britain. After a brief tour of Denmark and Sweden in April, in which they were still billed as Roundabout, Blackmore suggested a new name "Deep Purple", named after his grandmother's favourite song (hear below the jazz-standard "When the Deep Purple falls" by Peter de Rose). Deep Purple's first gig, at Vestpoppen, Tastrup, Denmark took place on April 20, 1968
At this exhibition about 50 years of Deep Purple, we want to show everyone many things of this great band. It is an exhibition from fans for fans. So we invite everyone to present rare items. We hope, that Deep Purple will officially support this exhibition too. Our mission is to support art and artists.
We are a non-profit-organisation and we try to do a great event. If you would like to donate, we can write a thankyou to you on our site here. We need donations for insurance, exhibition hall, inviting musicians etc. Thank you very much for your support.
